Abstract: An intercultural dialog protocol in the doctor-patient relationship is essential in order to ensure effective communication and quality healthcare, especially in situations where the doctor and the patient have different cultural backgrounds. This is the premise of this paper, which aims to highlight principles and good practice programmes applied in the Victor Babes University of Medicine and Pharmacy Timisoara in order to overcome cultural and linguistic barriers and to facilitate mutual understanding.
